Unsung returns on November 1st @ 8pm(ET) on TV One with a spotlight on soul legend Teena Marie. You really can’t tell the story of soul music without a chapter on Teena Marie’s many contributions including her songwriting, performing and a timeless duet. Fire & Desire was more than just a song between Teena and Rick James. Their passion transferred offstage as well. Take a look at a show clip below where Teena talks about the fights she and Rick James had on and off stage.

A lot of people who heard Teena on the radio back in the day thought she was black. In the second clip her friend Mickey Boyce-Ellis tells us she actually thought Teena was black.
