I had a brief exchange about a D’Angelo NY appearance on twitter this morning and in the past I’ve heard scattered rumors that he’s back in the studio so I decided to do a quick web search to see if there were any new clues, trails, milk cartons or info about the MIA soul man. Then I came across this D’Angelo “Voodoo” EPK I’ve never seen before. It was shot in Cuba and features appearances from Q-Tip, Chris Rock, Rick Rubin and Eric Clapton. Of course I can’t believe I haven’t seen it having inhaled everything remotely tied to the Voodoo album (which I personally like better than his debut album Brown Sugar).

I know this goes without saying for most of us, but I miss D’Angelo! Maxwell is back, Sade is on the way. D’Angelo, come back and complete the soul trinity. You’ve got fans waiting to be put under your spell again.

update: So the twitter convo I had this morning about D’Angelo appearing in NY is picking up steam. Just got a link from another DJ about D’Angelo’s scheduled appearance. Anyone going? Would love to hear if this really went down.
