A Message From Will Downing

I’m happy to pass on the following message from Will Downing.

FROM THE DESK OF WILL DOWNING:

Last year you received a letter from me that I typed sitting in a wheelchair while fighting the debilitating disease, Polymyositis. You read about the release of my last recording, ‘After Tonight’ which thanks to you went #1 on Billboard’s R&B charts upon release. It featured the songs “After Tonight”, “Fantasy” and “God Is So Amazing ”. Yes, God is truly AMAZING as I am back on my feet walking, singing, touring and recording.

And it is with my deepest gratitude that I humbly present to you my 14th project, ‘Classique‘. My parents taught me to be myself at all times and this music is 100% Pure Will Downing. This is a classic soul project – not Old School… Classic!!! A bit of a throwback to an era that makes me wanna say… “now that’s music ”.

Oddly enough I’d hear that same phrase from the generation before me and I vowed not to repeat it but here I am saying it because it applies. This is very good “adult music. “Yeah, I said it – very good!!! I normally don’t say things like that about my work but…but this is different…this was recorded with a “new spirit”. This project is alive and full of life! After coming through what I experienced I look at life a little differently now so I present to you my latest and maybe greatest piece of work, ‘Classique‘.

Enjoy,
Will Downing

    Will,

As a former student of Dr. Odell Hobbs also, I listen to your music and think…we were taught well. Please know that we are praying for you in Philadelphia, PA; and we appreciate your work. You represent all of the former Odell Hobbs era choir members well. The LORD bless you and keep you.

I have been a fan since “I Try”. You’re the only artist who I will travel out-of-state to see. Also, if anyone says to me, “no, I’ve never heard Will Downing” they get 2 of your albums from me as a gift.

God bless you for the years of happiness you’ve given.

I also love Audrey’s work she is so talented and Im glad with the help of God she took such good care of you during your illness. I work In Neurophysiology and know the disease well. Nice family touch with daughter/wife on Something special!

What can I say? God is amazing and He has truly blessed you and your family. I am a true fan and a real lover of true music, so I want to say, “Thank You” for staying true to form. I have every album, cassette, cd you’ve released and I love them all. I’m looking forward to you making something with your wife Audrey because I love her and her voice. The two of you singing on an entire cd would get a lot of women pregnant!!! It worked for me!LOL I saw you at Country Club Hills and had the pleasure to finally meet you in person after seeing you live everytime you are in Illinois…such a warm spirit! I’m thankful that you’re back and looking and sounding amazing. If you can get a really good nutritionist/herbalist to help you get your body to a healthy and balanced alkalined/acid state, it may help with the polymyositis. It worked for me. I’ve read that no disease can survive in our bodies if we have the proper alkaline balance. Much Love to You and Your Family.

I am so very happy that God has restored your health and strength. I truly believe he was not done using you and the gift that he has given you. I know first hand how it feels to be near death. I had a very bad car accident that left me with a broken neck and pelvic but God was not done with me yet! For a moment I will subscribe to the over used statement that I AM YOUR BIGGEST FAN! I have every album and I wear them out. As a matter of fact I have 2 of Invitation Only because I wore out the first copy. Keep doing what you do best. Even if your recognition never comes just know that there are some of us that are behind you no matter what!! Truly Monique Robertson
