Well this was a shocker. New mom Jill Scott is no longer with her fiance/baby’s father Lil John Roberts. Jill talks to Essence magazine about being a single mother now to baby Jett.

The Roots will explain to us how they got over when they debut their brand new single How I Got Over on the Jimmy Fallon show tonight (June 24). Their new album of the same title is scheduled to be released on October 20th and according to Billboard will feature the tracks “Walk Alone,” the vintage R&B-leaning “Make a Move,” “The Day” featuring Icelandic vocalist Patty Crash, a cover of Frank Zappa’s instrumental classic “Peaches en Regalia” and a version of Cody Chesnutt’s “Serve This Royalty.” The Roots start a new residency in Atlantic City, New Jersey in July.

We told you about Melanie Fiona and Questlove’s anti-mixtape. Check out the video for a sneak peak at what they’re doing. The anti-mixtape is coming soon. Melanie’s new album “The Bridge” is scheduled to be released on August 18th.
