Who remembers Mica Paris’ My One Temptation or Where Is The Love with Will Downing? How about I Should Have Known Better, a song that Mica did with Omar Lye-Fook or If I Love U 2 Nite, written specifically for Mica by Prince and recorded at his Paisley Park Studio? The unforgettable voice is back with her first studio album in ten years, Born Again. Mica, who’s been called the UK Queen of Soul, started her career 22 years ago, released five albums and has worked with and influenced a multitude of talented artists. Grammy winning artist Estelle said “I got into music because of Mica, she was my inspiration“.

Mica Paris’ new album Born Again, released today, was produced by Brian Rawlings and features a stripped down version of My One Temptation, remakes of Eric Benet’s You’re The Only One, Keyshia Cole’s I Remember and a stirring live rendition of Summertime. I’ve posted the Summertime video below along with Mica’s very first hit single in 1988 My One Temptation. The rebirth of such a great voice is a welcome addition to the soul family.
