Soul randomness as seen on the net….

Maxwell has been added to the Essence Music Festival. He’ll be joining Beyonce, Al Green, Raphael Saadiq, Anita Baker, Eric Benet, Jazmine Sullivan, John Legend, Janelle Monae, Ledisi, Zap Mama and more July 3-5 in New Orleans. Check here for more info on the Essence Musical Festival. I just have one question. Will Maxwell release his much anticipated, much delayed album by then? How about a single? Why did he tour? Ok, maybe that was more than one question. Guess we’ll file that under “soul mysteries.”

On February 10, India.Arie will release Testimony: Vol 2, Love & Politics and she’ll be getting some love on the album from Musiq Soulchild (on the song Chocolate High) and Gramps Morgan of the group Morgan Heritage (on Therapy). She’s in the studio rehearsing with a band for her upcoming tour. Check out both songs on her myspace page and find out how you can get free tickets to her VH1 Soul taping in NYC on 2/5/09.
