Syleena Johnson Launches New Label
Syleena Johnson will launch her own label, Aneelys Records (Syleena spelled backwards), through Federal, a subsidiary of Universal Music Group. Aneelys Records signed an exclusive world-wide distribution agreement about which Johnson says “I am so excited about this venture. For the past 10 years, others have had control of my career. Now, I am in control and the level of Aneelys’ success is dependent on me and I look forward to that challenge. Having full control allows me to sign my own acts, call all of the shots and release my album when it is truly ready, I am blessed.”
Johnson who recently gave birth to her first child will name her fourth studio album, “Chapter 4: Labor Pains.” It will be the label’s first release and is set to be released on September 2, 2008, a day after Labor Day and Syleena’s birthday.
