Erykah, Janet, Lizz Wright, Algebra, Cheri Dennis & Pete Rock In Stores Today

Do the ladies run this mutha..? From the looks of new releases out today it certainly seems so. The never boring, always innovative Erykah Badu releases New Amerykah, Pt. 1: 4th World War on what she calls Savior’s Day. She can call it whatever she wants. She had me at Honey. Today is also Erykah’s birthday. Happy Birthday Erykah!

If you like some pop with your R&B Janet Jackson gives you some Discipline.

The criminally slept on Lizz Wright returns with The Orchard. Check out the video for her first single “My Heart” here.

Algebra Blessett’s debut CD Purpose is finally in stores today after fifty eleven delays.

Don’t sleep on Cheri Dennis and her new CD In And Out of Love. Let’s hope Bad Boy gets this one right.

Just to show that this post is not totally estrogen dominated Pete Rock is back with NY’s Finest. He is still streaming his entire album on his myspace page.

Go out and get yourself some soul today. There is no excuse for not rocking at least one of these CD’s and if you really got it like that hopefully you’ll pick them all up. You can click the album covers to buy them. Support good music!

Alright, Alright!!! There are some nice selections coming out this week… yep, the ladies are dominating, but I’m NOT mad at that!! :)

Oh yeah, today IS Savior’s Day (Feb 26th)… I believe according to the Nation of Gods & Earths, this is considered a ‘holiday’. So, peace to the Gods & Earths! :)

I am too mad right now… went to bestbuy to get algebra’s CD… and they have none… not 1 CD in all of the Bestbuys in NYC.. the cd never even came in… then when I looked for erykah’s they hadnt even stocked it on the shelves yet… so I had to wait for them to do it… ugh!

Thanx for posting this. Stuff like this and the “Honey” video from Badu shows a renewed music collector’s movement going on in light of all the downloading and copying. I think artists are more likely to put out better material now as well. There’s a silver lining here somewhere.

P.S. – I’ll definitely be buying the Badu and Pete Rock albums.

I’m looking forward to hearing Erykah’s new cd. I’m loving Janet’s new cd though. I think this is one of her best in a minute.

I found the Algebra CD at Virgin Megastore in the city, try that it’s $10.

Erykah’s album is blazin (Telephone takes me back to “Other Side Of the Game” and “Me” reminds of “Cleva”)! And Pete Rock has some classic material on his as well!
