I Was Quoted in Philadelphia Weekly

I was quoted in Philadelphia Weekly in a story about Esthero, Corinne Bailey Rae and the marketing of soul music. Both very talented. Both marketed very differently. I agree with the writer, Craig D. Lindsey that Esthero should be a superstar by now. The reality is just like in mainstream, soul music is sometimes put in a box.

Since we are talking about putting music in a box, I hinted at some new things coming to HoneySoul.com. Here’s another hint: Expand Your Soul
(yall know I’m a tease lol)

Esthero should be a superstar!! She is an amazing talent. Corrine Bailey Rae is a talented sister as well but…..well I won’t knock one to uplift another. The music industry sucks.

good quote. i agree with jen…corrine bailey rae is good…but esthero is hot! that ol’ industry afraid she’ll expose their BS!

ummm…i don’t know why but the description of HS as being a “black-music site” kind of got under my skin a little…not on a backpacker level…but it made me say wow! you related to Tiger?

    peace and blessings!

I can’t speak on Esthero because I haven’t heard alot of her music, but having just seen Corinne on Sunday when she performed in DC, I have to say that I can see why she is being hailed as the next big thing. Girlfriend is the truth. She sounds better live that she does on CD, which I don’t say about a lot of people.

    Congrats on the quote, V!
