Gerald Levert – Voices listen
The retrospective of Levert’s greatest duets brings together a trio of newly recorded tracks – including a reunion with LeVert -with 10 songs from the soul superstar’s solo albums, his guest appearances on other artist’s albums and his work with soul super group LSG – featuring Levert, Keith Sweat and Johnny Gill.

In June, 2005, the songwriter, musician and producer Joe Henry brought together five of the greatest living artists of soul: Ann Peebles, Billy Preston, Mavis Staples, Irma Thomas and Allen Toussaint to create an album of “new music done in a classic mode, not a re-creation of classic soul music…a record authentic to where these five particular artists find themselves today-and in relationship to one another.” Work Song, Rhino and Starbucks Hear Music will donate a portion of the purchase price of each CD sold to aid in Hurricane Katrina recovery efforts.
