Underground Soul: Middle Child

Songwriter, vocalist, musician, and poet Kenesha and older sibling and producer 1st Born (who calls himself a sample-free producer) comprise Ohio's Middle Child. Their album Barefeet & Pregnant is an ecclectic mix of r&b, folk, and jazz accentuated by Kenesha's bluesy vocals. I was a little curious about the title and the cover image (I'm assuming it has something to do with the creation and birth of the album and the way the songs are arranged) but once I listened, I found this to be just different enough to grab my interest and soulful enough to warrant repeat listens. I love the elements of soul and poetry, and the warm acoustic sound. Barefeet & Pregnant is available at CD Baby.
