I have been contemplating doing a Prince radio.blog for quite some time but it was an overwhelming undertaking. The sheer number of songs from this musical genius is just staggering and thoughts of narrowing it down sent me into a purple-hazed anxiety attack. At first I thought I would break Prince's songs down into certain time periods like 1976-1984 but after further thought, grouping them into categories seemed to work well. You know I have this thing about themes, so "love & hate" felt right. Besides the love songs coming up fairly soon, at some future date there could be the sex songs, the party songs, the spiritual songs...oh the possibilities. I originally only planned to do the love songs but after mentioning this to Bo, he suggested the heartbreak songs as well. He's right, what's love without some heartbreak, especially the way Prince tells a story. I'm presenting the "I Hate U" playlist first. As soon as I'm able to narrow down the love songs to something manageable that wouldn't require you to map out a few days to listen to, I'll present the "Adore" playlist. While I love Prince's more popular songs, I have included a few tracks that have received little or no radio airplay but are just as funky as his major hits. *adult language Prince: Hate & Heartache radio.blog
