You know the deal by now. Eack week, I spotlight some newly released tracks (or re-released tracks). I don't include songs that are already in the Listening Booth section because well, that's redundant, LOL. I don't know how long I will continue to do this so I hate to call this a regular thing. I know some week will come where I will be disgusted with my choices or iTunes will bankrupt me but for now, it's all good. Tell me what gets the thumbs up and what doesn't.

12. Shuggie Otis - Strawberry Letter 23, Inspiration Information. Although the Brothers Johnson had a huge hit with this track, "Thunder Thumbs" and "Lightnin Licks" weren't the originators of this trippy soul track. That honor belongs to guitar virtuoso, multi-instrumentalist Shuggie Otis. He's influenced everyone from Prince to Raphael Saadiq. If you consider yourself a music fan, this is definitely a name you should know.

14. The O'Jays - The Backstabbers, Essential O'Jays. If you know soul music, you know the O'Jays. I was going to include "For The Love of Money" but The Donald has ruined that song for me, LOL.
